Arriving in Ulverston, railway station, one way system, car parks, toilets, tourist information etc.
Arriving by train
There are no toilets on or near Ulverston station so it may be advisable to use the facilities onboard the train before arriving.
To reach the town centre walk up the station approach and turn left across the bridge over the tracks. To walk to Conishead Priory (about 45 minutes), click here for directions. This walk is not recommended in bad weather or if you have heavy baggage. It may be preferable to call a taxi.
To walk from the station to Swarthmoor Hall (about 15 minutes), click here for directions. Again not recommended in bad weather or at night (country path with no street lighting).
Arriving by car
The Stockbridge Lane Car Park is usually the last to fill up, the Brewery Car Park is usually the first. All car parks are pay-and-display all days to 6pm. The Stockbridge Lane car park is cheaper than the others.
